The significance of veterinary education has prompted VeterinarianEDU.org to provide a way of helping those who are pursuing a future in this profession. We are proud to announce that we will be distributing an annual scholarships to qualified candidates who are in pursuit of an academic degree. These scholarships are merit-based and help students ease the financial burden that comes with a veterinary education. Each annual scholarship amounts to $500 and will be given out each spring semester. To be eligible for a scholarship, students must be currently enrolled in a veterinary undergraduate, graduate or Doctorate level program. Candidates will be judged on the strength of their application and required essay. Candidates are only permitted to submit one application per year.

OFFICIAL RULES
Veterinary scholarship candidates are required to fill out and submit the VeterinarianEDU.org application as well as an original essay. Each individual essay must be correctly submitted by using the above form. Each essay is also expected to be properly formatted.
Grounds for disqualification apply to candidates who supply false information or use any form of plagiarism. Essays are expected to be the original work of each applicant. Plagiarism checks will be conducted on all essays.
Evaluating the essay portion of the application will consider different factors. Each essay will be judged on a candidate’s ability to directly address the question and offer personal insight as it applies to their chosen profession.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Our scholarship staff will thoroughly review each application. The vetting process includes a close examination of each component in the application. The staff will look at each candidate’s academic record, personal essay, employment history and extracurricular activities. Below is a glimpse of the general criteria for selecting scholarship winners:

ANNOUNCING THE WINNER
Those who are selected as the winning recipients of the VeterinarianEDU.org scholarship will receive a notification from one of our staff members. This will occur in 30 days or less of the application deadline date. Each winner will be notified via phone call or e-mail. Phone calls will be made to those who provide a number on their application. Selected winners must then show their most recent transcripts and GPA from their college or university. This is done for verification purposes.
In the event that a winning applicant cannot present a valid transcript or is found to have falsified their GPA, the VeterinarianEDU.org staff reserves the right to revoke the scholarship award. In these instances, the scholarship will be given to the next qualified applicant.
Each $500 scholarship award will be distributed to the winner through the issuance of a one-time payment check that is made out directly to the post-secondary school the candidate is attending. Every scholarship award will be paid out within three months of the time that the winner was notified of this honor.
*If a candidate has fully paid for the cost of his/her education, then the award will be paid directly to the winner by check, which will be sent to the permanent mailing address on their application.
Every individual scholarship winner will be featured on the VeterinarianEDU.org website. There were no submissions last year so there was no winner announced. Please submit your application for 2020.

WHEN IS THE SCHOLARSHIP OFFERED?
The VeterinarianEDU.org scholarship is given out twice a year. One is issued for the spring semester and one is issued for the fall semester. All applications must be submitted by May 1st of each year.
WHAT DO WE MEAN BY “QUALIFIED”?
“Qualified” is used to describe applicants who are currently presently enrolled in an accredited or campus-based veterinary education program.
ARE INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?
Yes. However, in order to be deemed a qualified candidate, applicants must be enrolled in an accredited or campus-based veterinary education program.
CAN MILITARY PERSONNEL ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?
Yes. We gladly welcome applications from all military service members.
DO YOU NEED A LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION TO APPLY?
No. We will not consider letters of recommendations as they will be immediately discarded.
WHAT IS THE APPLICATION FEE?
There is no application fee required.
At VeterinarianEDU.org, we are fully aware that the process of applying for a scholarship can be rather daunting. We also realize that students may be applying for several scholarships in order to help pay for their education. To help ease stress levels, here are some helpful tips to follow during the application process:
- Track every package that is sent via postal mail.
- Save and store backup copies of essays and applications in an accessible file.
- Obtain school transcripts and learn precisely how to send them to scholarship offices.
- Create an individual file that contains your important documents, which includes letters of recommendations, financial aid forms, tax returns, and standardized test scores.
- Keep a log of key scholarship submission deadlines and award dates.
PRIVACY POLICY
The submission of an application for the Veterinarian scholarship provides the staff at VeterinarianEDU.org with the right to contact applicants about the status of their application. VeterinarianEDU.org will only contact applicants about their application status and never share their information with a third-party. VeterinarianEDU.org also refrains from contacting applicants for marketing purposes. Winners of the scholarship will be contacted directly and all applicants grant the staff at VeterinarianEDU.org the right to post their name on the website. Only scholarship winners will be posted on the site. The remaining applicants’ information will be discarded. All original essays submitted will also be discarded once a winner has been selected. Veterinarian EDU.org will not publish or share any of those original essays. A secure firewall protects information supplied by applicants via the online application format. No fees are required, which negates the provision of any payment information. The staff at VeterinarianEDU.org requires transcripts from the winning applicant for verification purposes. Those transcripts are not shared with a third-party and will be discarded once the verification process has concluded. Providing a phone number with an application is optional and not a requirement. Phone numbers will not be shared with a third-party and applicants will not be contacted by VetrinarianEDU.org for marketing purposes.
